Time goes by....
So it's already mid-week! Almost friday! :)
Last weekend was pretty fun, I went by Nathan Philips Square to check out the Wintercity festival. Along with fireworks and street shows, there were ice sculptures on exhibit which was what I really wanted to check out (and photograph). The sculptures were housed in a tent and lit by blue light. Very cool effect - everything was glowing blue and cold! The pix also had a surreal look to them as all the lighting was just blue. My favourite shot of that night was of some water dripping off a sculpture... It took about 10 tries for me to catch the water droplet at the just the right moment, but I ended up quite satisfied with the shot. I've placed it in the Abstracts album.
Other than that, I've got a couple of small events I'll be shooting in March which should be interesting. They give me an excuse to upgrade my flash (a very old SB-25) for something newer and more reliable. I'll probably pick up an SB-600 flash sometime soon, and I'm also probably gonna get some more memory cards. I usually buy the fastest memory cards, but I just realized that the slower ones (and cheaper ones!) meet my needs just fine too (ie. not sports photography). I've heard I can probably get good deals at Pacific Mall (a mall here in Toronto), so I'll probably stop by there on the weekend and see what's up.
That's all for now!
