Caribana 2006!

So, this weekend I had big plans to try shooting the Caribana Parade in Toronto. It's a weekend of parades and parties celebrating Caribean culture. After living in Toronto for 10 years, this would have been the first time I'd have attended the actual parade, instead of just hitting the parties at night. I say 'would have been' because I missed it! LOL.
I woke up late from the night before's Caribana festivities ;) and then I couldn't really find the exact route to the parade. Even my native Toronto friends had no idea where the parade route exactly was! It's kinda lame that native Torontonians dont know where the biggest parade in North America is happening, while people from all over the world travel down just to watch it! Anyways, I tried driving down, but then got stuck in ridiculous traffic (because of the parade), and ended up having to cancel my plans!
I did walk around downtown though, and managed to snap a few shots of the interesting tourists who always show up for Caribana. A lot of tourists bring in souped-up cars and bikes and drive down the main downtown strip called Yonge Street. The biker below was going up and down Yonge Street so many times I was wondering if he was riding to show his bike off, or if he was actually lost! :)

Anyways, I've learnt my lesson, and hopefully by next year I'll have my act together!
